About the miniature:
Tõmba Tõmba means ‘Pull Pull’ in Estonian. The performer attempts
to escape the pull of gravity by escaping upwards into the harmonics
of different fundamental tones. Sometimes succeeding and sometimes not ...
The title is also a reference to the Italian downhill ski star Alberto ‘La
Bomba’ Tomba, who used the pull of gravity so elegantly. Perhaps
Alberto Tomba teaches us the conclusive lesson of the piece:
surrendering to gravity and making use of it, you’ll make the highest
and farthest jumps.

This piece belongs to the (sheetmusic) album Miniatures for Bass clarinet.
And it belongs to the CD Chambery (ATT2018.156)
Chambery: “chamber-y.” Six chamber music pieces by Tobias Klein: a trio, four duets and a solo piece, all with bass clarinet. A duet by Enno Poppe rounds out the program.
