about

Fie Schouten - bass clarinet

This work was premiered in 1983 by Harry Sparnaay. Isang Yun is a
composer who has been looking for harmony all his life. He was born
in Korea and hoped that through music the two Koreas would one
day get back together. What is special is that both countries play and
honor his music. I was also looking for harmony and a challenge at
the same time. Monolog is one of the most important and challenging
solo works for bass clarinet.
