About the miniature:
Late Nite Radio is a graphically notated study which explores the
“talking” qualities of the bass clarinet as made famous by Eric Dolphy.
The soundtrack of Late Nite Radio features a collage of talk radio hosts
from the 1970’s which the player can use as a sonic reference while
improvising. Practice by building a repertoire of speech-like phrases
and sentences which you can then use to improvise on in performance.
